Constructed from Alpinestars’ best-in-class protective technology, the Tech-Air® 5 PLASMA Airbag System is the newest addition to the Alpinestars Tech-Air® family. Engineered for an ultra-lightweight, superior comfort, and an ‘invisible’ profile, the state-of-the-art Tech-Air® 5 PLASMA provides comprehensive upper body coverage, chest, ribs, back, and shoulders, and is equipped with a PLASMA back protector for the optimum blend of comfort, flexibility, airflow, and protection. With a new dedicated algorithm with three modes, STREET, ADVENTURE, and RACE, the Tech-Air® 5 PLASMA is a single-charge deployment Airbag System, and its gas canister is replaceable by the user.

Construction

• Ultra-thin mono-layer stretch mesh construction at the collar, underarms, and front of the body, for an enhanced adaptive performance fit and superior breathability.
• Ergonomic sleeves with a deeper cut around the armpits for enhanced mobility and comfort.
• Cut longer at the rear for enhanced coverage, with a contoured, low-cut neck for reduced material contact with skin.
• Specifically engineered to work with Alpinestars jacket ventilation systems for optimized airflow and breathability.
• The Airbag is anatomically optimized to increase its envelope of protection. The Airbag features strategically positioned cutaways to precisely follow the shape and contours of the body for superior impact protection of the back, chest, neck, ribs, and shoulders, while also reducing material volume.
• Minimum use of plastic components for a low weight to performance ratio, and maximum airflow and freedom of movement.

Protection

• The active protection provided by the Airbag provides full upper body coverage: chest, ribs, back, and shoulders.
• The integrated back protector is constructed with Nucleon PLASMA, Alpinestars viscoelastic compound, and is co-injected with advanced elastomer compounds for an ultra-slim profile, maximum weight savings, and superior flexibility.
• The streamlined, smooth profile of the back protector follows the contours and shape of the electronics case for an ‘invisible under the jacket’ profile.
• The passive protector is CE certified 16:21-2 Level 1, which delivers four times more protective performance than a passive protector.
• The Airbag is certified for up to six deployments before it needs replacing
